Authorities in Coachella, CA need help in identifying the woman they say threw a bag of newborn puppies in a dumpster.
Per the Associated Press, the woman was caught on surveillance video Thursday behind an auto parts store tossing a plastic bag in the dumpster and getting back in her Jeep and driving off.
A man not long after reportedly rummaged through the dumpster and found a bag with seven newborn puppies inside. The man took the “two to three-day-old puppies” into the auto parts store.
The Riverside County Department of Animal Services says it is a “miracle” the puppies survived the 90-degree heat.
A rescue organization is now caring for the puppies until they are old enough to be adopted, ABC 7 reports.
