Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee, decried efforts by Democrats with high-ranking posts on important committees to make Department of Justice special counsel Robert Mueller’s report regarding possible Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
According to the letter drafted by Attorney General William Barr, Mueller did not find that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government to defeat Hillary Clinton in the last presidential election. According to Jordan, Democrats’ push to have the report made public by Democrat is done out of dissatisfaction of those findings.
“Here’s the interesting thing, Steve,” Jordan said. “You’ve got the chairman of the Intelligence Committee Adam Schiff saying go ahead and make public classified information and you have the chairman of the Judiciary Committee saying go ahead and make public grand jury material. Now that’s scary. I talked with [Rep.] John Ratcliffe, and he said that’s one of the scariest things he’s seen.”
“So, this is where they’re at because the Mueller report was not the bombshell they had hoped it would be,” he continued. “But when you have the head of the Intelligence Committee, the head of the Judiciary Committee saying make public material that’s not supposed to get public, that’s not consistent with the law — that’s just wrong, plain wrong.”
