Representative Bradley Byrne (R-AL) appeared Wednesday on “Fox & Friends” to discuss illegal immigration in the wake of a 16-year-old illegal alien killing Sonya Jones in an attempted hit and run incident in the area he represents.
Byrne, who recently announced a U.S. Senate run, said this is just another example of why President Donald Trump’s border wall needs to be built and why the country’s asylum laws should be changed since the immigrant “[gamed] the system” by claiming asylum and then failing to show up for his hearing.
“It doesn’t matter where you live in America,” Byrne stated. “These people can come into our country and harm us.”
“We need to have a system that protects everybody in America, and that means building a wall, changing our laws so that people like him can’t game the system and harm you and me,” he added.
Byrne followed that up saying the people in Washington D.C. “failed” Jones’ family and friends by making it easy for illegal immigrants to enter the country.
