Boehner: Budget Deficit Will Become ‘Major Issue’ Over the Next Year

Former House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) predicted on Fox Business Network’s “Mornings with Maria”  that the mounting budget deficit will become a “major issue” over the next year.

Boehner pointed out how the $22 trillion debt is “approaching” going up $1 trillion a year, which he said is difficult for a government to operate with on a yearly basis.

“We’ve got $20 trillion worth of debt,” he told host Maria Bartiromo. “You can’t operate your family budget on that, you can’t run your business with that type of debt and guess what, your fellow government can’t do it either.”

He continued, “I do think the budget deficit is going to become a major issue here over the next year that is going to force Washington, hopefully to force Washington, to begin to deal with it.”
