Tuesday Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told reporters President Donald Trump “touched a hot, hot stove” with the government shutdown adding, “Hopefully, he won’t do it again.”
Schumer said, “I hope this serves as a lesson to President Trump and all my Republican colleagues, no more shutdown.”
He continued, “President Trump touched a hot, hot stove. Hopefully, he won’t do it again.”
He added, “When the president stays out of the negotiations, we almost always succeed. When he mixes in, it’s a formula for failure. I ask President Trump, let Congress deal with it on its own.”
