Tuesday, House Foreign Affairs Committee member Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) told reporters that it was “inappropriate” for acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker to say Department of Justice special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation was “close to being completed.”
Connolly said, “I think it’s inappropriate for the acting attorney general to be commenting on an ongoing criminal investigation under his auspices. It shows why Mr. Whitaker is not fit for the appointment he received.”
