Pelosi: Trump ‘Very Silent’ on Postponing SOTU — He Think’s ‘It’s OK to Not Pay People’

Thursday at her weekly press briefing, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) she has not heard a response from the White House to her proposal to postpone President Donald Trump’s Jan. 29 State of the Union address until the government is reopened.

Pelosi said, “I’m not denying the platform at all. We’re saying let’s get a date when government is open. Let’s pay the employees. Maybe he thinks it’s OK to not pay people who do work. I don’t. My caucus doesn’t either.”

She continued, “We haven’t heard. Very silent, more than 24 hours.”

She added, “I’m concerned about people not having paychecks in their homes.”
