Thursday, Rep. Adam Schiff reacted to court filings that allege former Donald Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort shared polling data during the 2016 presidential campaign with a business associate accused of having ties to Russian intelligence.
Schiff said the allegation is “pretty shocking,” adding information continues to surface in the Robert Mueller investigation that takes “your breath away.”
“You think you are not capable of being shocked anymore, but of course we continue to learn things that take your breath away,” Schiff shared on CNN’s “New Day.”
Schiff later said “there is clear evidence” of collusion in the 2016 election, but would not go as far as to say it “amounts to conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt.”
“There is clear evidence on the issue of collusion. This adds to the body of evidence” he stated.
“But whether it amounts to conspiracy beyond a reasonable doubt, I think we have to wait for Bob Mueller’s work.”
