Tuesday on MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) accused President Donald Trump of seeking “to stoke” and instill “paranoia” and “purposeful anxiety” about the border.
O’Rourke said, “We’re literally on the border, you know, you don’t have a wall or a fence around your house.”
He added, “I really believe that if people came to El Paso, experienced it, if they could live here for a little while, even better, all of this preoccupation and consternation and fear, so much of it founded in paranoia, and perhaps the purposeful anxiety that the president seeks to stoke and instill. I think all that would melt. You just have to be here to see it.”
