VIDEO: Florida Man Nearly Runs over Elderly Woman After Snatching Purse at McDonalds

An elderly woman was nearly run over in a Florida McDonalds parking lot Thursday evening as she tried to fight off her attacker who allegedly snatched her purse inside the restaurant, according to security camera footage of the incident.

The video obtained by KCBY shows the male suspect approaching the victim, who is sitting down at a table inside the fast food joint with another woman, before reaching over the back of her shoulder to grab her Coach purse.

Later in the video, the man bolted out of the restaurant with the purse while his female victim tried to run after him. The suspect then hopped into his car, which had someone in the passenger seat, and shut the door.

But the female victim did not give up in her pursuit of the suspect, opening the car door to attempt to get her purse back. The man, however, began driving backward with the car door open— nearly running over his victim with the door.

The force of the car moving backward pushed the woman to the ground, leaving her injured.

The woman was transported to a local hospital to be treated for her injuries, although it is unclear what condition she is in at this time.

Okeechobee Police later identified Charles Alton Stratton Jr. as a suspect and arrested him for his role in the alleged incident.
