On Wednesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” incoming House Republican Conference Chairwoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) stated that “House Republicans are with” President Trump in his push to get $5 billion for a border wall.
Cheney said, “The plan is we’ve got to get $5 billion for the wall. And, you know, we’re in a situation now where we’ve actually provided funding for our military. We’ve provided funding for Labor and HHS in the same appropriations bill. That’s been completed. That’s been signed. And the president has been clear that he’s willing to shut down the government if we don’t get this 5 billion. And, you know, the Democrats, as I said, they’re in a tough spot. They want to abolish ICE. They want to have open borders. The American people are watching the kind of crime that that would result in, in terms of the people flooding across our border. And the president’s exactly right. The House Republicans are with him. We’ve got to make sure that we secure the border.”
