In a Monday appearance on CBS’s “This Morning,” Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) said if President Donald Trump “wants to do the right thing” in lowering prescription drug prices, then he is willing to work with him.
“If the president wants to do the right thing on prescriptions drugs, and he lies all of the time so we can be skeptical about it, but if he does, of course, I want to work with him,” Sanders stated.
In May, Trump vowed to “have tougher negotiation, more competition, and much lower prices at the pharmacy counter.”
“The drug lobby is making an absolute fortune at the expense of American consumers,” Trump said.
