Sunday on MSNBC’s “AM Joy,” Washington Post columnist and MSNBC contributor Jennifer Rubin criticized the GOP’s policies like tax cuts, health care, the border wall, immigration, climate change and more, labeling them “very unpopular.”
Rubin said Republicans know their policies are unpopular, so they opt to lie to sell them.
“Republican policy these days is very unpopular,” Rubin emphasized. “It’s not popular to give tax cuts primarily to the rich. It’s not popular to take away protections for pre-existing conditions. It’s not popular to build the wall. It’s not popular to want to throw out DREAMers. It’s not popular to pull out of the Paris accord. So, what do they do? Instead of having popular positions, they lie about the ones they have. I think it is absolutely critical to see what an intellectual cul-de-sac these people have worked themselves into where they literally cannot sell their own policies. So my suggestion is go get better ones.”
