During Wednesday’s “New Day,” CNN commentator Ana Navarro discussed movement in America where women feel less “shame” in sharing their sexual assault stories and reacted to President Donald Trump saying right now is a “scary time” for men because of potential false accusations.
Navarro blasted the president and lumped him into a group with Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby as people who should be fearful of the #MeToo movement.
“There is no reason to be afraid to be alone with a woman if you are not behaving in a way that should make you afraid,” Navarro said of the notion men should be afraid of being accused of sexual misconduct.
“I think Donald Trump is right, this is a scary time for men,” she continued. “It is a scary time for sexual harassers. It is a scary time for people that have gotten away with it for decades. It is a scary time for people like Harvey Weinstein and Bill Cosby and Donald Trump. … It’s one of these things with Donald Trump where you just say to yourself, ‘The gal of this man.’ I mean, he has just no self-awareness. This is a guy who goes after John McCain and calls POWs losers after having dodged the draft four times. This is a man who goes out there and talks about what a scary time this is for men and mocks Christine Blasey Ford when he’s got more than 50 credible accusations of sexual assault against him.”
