Tuesday on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) said whether or not President Donald Trump is questioned by special counsel Robert Mueller, he could be cited as an “unindicted co-conspirator” as President Richard Nixon was during the Watergate investigation.”
When asked if Mueller can complete the investigation without hearing from Trump, Connolly said, “I think he can because it’s very clear that they have been very thorough and that they’re in possession of a great deal of information and evidence. And, you know, if the president decides not to cooperate, he decides not to cooperate. Mueller can address that in terms of whether the president is a target or not and whether the president, frankly, could be an unindicted co-conspirator as Richard Nixon was cited.”
