Sunday on New York AM 970 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” former Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT), the Democratic Party’s 2000 vice-presidential nominee, discussed the Democratic Party’s movement further to the left.
Lieberman said “really upsets” people like him to see the party shift.
“The two parties are going through really tumultuous times,” he told host John Catsimatidis. “When you think about it, the Koch brothers … coming out with a statement critical of the president because they don’t agree with him on, certainly, trade policy and immigration. Democrats are in a real battle, which is mostly taking the party to the left, which upsets people like me. We’re in a very unsettled moment in American politics.“
