While speaking to reporters on Wednesday, President Trump said he hasn’t “really thought” about the possibility of holding retiring Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy’s seat open until after the 2018 elections. He also stated, “I think you want to go as quickly as possible.”
Trump was asked, “[I]t’s an election year. Would you give consideration to holding that spot open until the make-up of Congress is determined come November?”
Trump answered, “I haven’t really thought about that. I think you want to go as quickly as possible. It’s a process. But, haven’t really thought of that.”
