Tuesday on “CNN New Day,” Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney blasted President Donald Trump canceling the Philadelphia Eagles’ White House visit to celebrate their Super Bowl LII victory over their National Anthem protests.
Kenney prefaced his comments by saying he stands for the National Anthem because he is a “privileged white male,” but said the president is only thinking “about what’s best for him” by speaking out against the protests.
“It’s about me, me, me and me. And that’s all he thinks about every day. It’s not about the country. It’s not about the citizens. It’s not about what’s best for this country. It’s about what’s best for him. And that’s not what the presidency is about,” Kenny said on CNN.
