Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) repeatedly refused to offer answers to host Jake Tapper questions on evidence of collusion during the 2016 presidential election between President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia.
Warner is the ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is conducting an investigation into the matter.
When asked if there was any evidence, Warner said, “I will not comment about where we stand in terms of certain witnesses and our investigation.”
When pressed again Warner said, “That is clearly the end point question.”
Tapper pressed, “Just to put a point on this, still as far as the public knows, no evidence of anybody in the Trump team accepting the offers of help, no evidence of conspiracy that we know of yet and you are not willing to comment on whether you have seen evidence of that.”
Warner said, “What we are going to do in our investigation collusion will be the last issue.”
