On Tuesday’s “CNN Newsroom,” Representative David Cicilline (D-RI) reacted to the leak of the questions Special Counsel Robert Mueller plans to ask President Trump by saying, “I think there’s no question that we can conclude that it came from somebody in the Trump orbit.”
Cicilline said, “It’s hard to figure out why they think this is advantageous to them, other than maybe to try to accuse the special counsel of releasing them. Obviously, that’s not true. This special counsel has had really no leaks at all. It’s been hermetically sealed, really. And so, this would be a departure from all of the practices of Robert Mueller. So, I think the only fair inference is that it came from someone in the Trump orbit, hard to figure out why they think that’s a good thing.”
He added that there is a possibility that someone in the president’s orbit leaked the questions to try to convince the president not to answer questions. Cicilline further stated, “I think there’s no question that we can conclude that it came from somebody in the Trump orbit.”
