Tuesday on MSNBC, host Ali Velshi criticized President Donald Trump for calling Mar-a-Lago the ”southern White House” during a joint press conference with Japanese President Shinzo Abe in Florida.
Trump said, “Many of the world’s great leaders request to come to Mar-a-Lago and Palm Beach. They like it. I like it. We’re comfortable. We have great relationships as you remember.”
He added, “It was originally built as the southern White House. It was called the southern White House.”
At the end of the press conference, Velshi said, “That was full-up weird. I hope Richard Painter was listening to that. But that was an infomercial for Mar-a-Lago, which shouldn’t make any sense. It’s a private club, and the president was touting it.”
He added, “He said some very strange things, the Olympics would have been a failure without the United States, it would not have happened and that people don’t know that the Korean war has not ended. Yes, Mr. President, people know that the Korean war hasn’t ended.”
