Tuesday on Fox News Channel’s “Outnumbered Overtime,” Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO) was asked by host Harris Faulkner about the future of the relationship between the United States and Russia and the possibility of putting Russia in the “state sponsor” of terrorism category.

According to Gardner, that was a determination the State Department will have to make.

“The State Department should make a determination of whether or not Russia is, in fact, a state sponsor of terror,” Gardner said. “Look what they have carried out — chemical attacks in the United Kingdom on European soil. Look what they have done in Ukraine. Look what they have done in Georgia. Look what they are trying to do throughout Eastern Europe. This is something Russia should be held accountable for. And the State Department needs to make a determination whether or not Russia has exceeded simple sanctions and moved on to what should be a critical watershed moment in our in our relationship and have become a state-sponsor of terrorism.”
