On Thursday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” former VA Secretary Dr. David Shulkin argued that the IG report and stories about his trip to England were part of a strategy by political appointees in the VA to eliminate him.
Shulkin denied that he did anything wrong with regards to the trip.
Anchor Chris Hayes then asked, “So, okay, your understanding, and I think you said this explicitly, the IG report and the stories about the trip were essentially an attempt to get rid of you by people?”
Shulkin responded, “There’s no question about it. This was politicized.”
Hayes then asked who was responsible for this, and Shulkin stated, “The political appointees within the VA that did not like the type of progress that we were making.”
