Thursday, Olympic skater Adam Rippon, who is openly gay, discussed the controversy between him and Vice President Mike Pence and said that he was open to a meeting with Pence, but he did not think the vice president would be looking forward to it.
In February, Rippon bashed Pence for his anti-homosexuality stance, and when Pence tried to set up for the two to meet in South Korea for the Winter Olympics in attempt to settle their differences, the skater declined.
Rich Eisen of “The Rich Eisen Show” asked Rippon on his show if he ever ended up having a meeting with Pence, to which Rippon responded no.
“I didn’t, no,” he replied. “I would, but I don’t think that he’s really looking forward to it.”
Rippon also said that his controversy with Pence added some extra pressure to win at the Olympics.
He took home a bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics.
