The New York Giants had an abysmal 2017 season and are rumored to be looking for an heir apparent to 37-year-old starter Eli Manning.
The Giants hold the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and could use it to draft Manning’s replacement or to get him some support at another position.
Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) told TMZ Sports that he wants the Giants to keep Manning and draft him some help on the offensive line.
“They got to keep Eli and draft a line,” Schumer said. ” I like the guy they got from the Patriots (Nate Solder), but they need more offensive line.”
He added, “If they get a good offensive line, they’re gonna be a Super Bowl contender.”
