On Tuesday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Fox News @ Night,” anchor Bret Baier commented on the special election in Pennsylvania’s 18th district by stating that while the district may not be a bellwether, and Democrat Conor Lamb is a different candidate, “clearly, enthusiasm is on the Democratic side, and you can’t discount that.”
Baier said, “[T]his particular district, you know, as far as being a bellwether, I don’t know if that’s the case. Both parties spending a lot of money on this one race. You have a lot of factors that could change between now and November.”
Baier then stated, “But, clearly, enthusiasm is on the Democratic side, and you can’t discount that.”
He continued, “This candidate though is different, and Conor Lamb ran a really great race. He out-fundraised Saccone 5 to 1. He was just better on the stump. He’s a Marine, 33-year-old. I mean, he ran away from Nancy Pelosi. This is kind of a different animal.”
