Wednesday on Fox Business Network’s “Lou Dobbs Tonight,” Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), the chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, dismissed pushback from the FBI, which has expressed “grave concern” about the release of a memo by the House Intelligence Committee led by chairman Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA).

The memo reportedly alleges FISA abuses by the Department of Justice and the FBI. And according to Meadows, Nunes was performing his constitutional duties in creating the memo.

“It is getting uglier Lou, but I think the other part is it’s time for transparency for the American people,” Meadows said. “I’ve been calling on it as you know along with Jim Jordan and a number of my colleagues. But Chairman Nunes has an obligation, an obligation to inform Congress when there has been FISA abuses. And so all he’s doing is following on his constitutional duty to let us know about that.”

“Now it doesn’t surprise me that the FBI is pushing back,” he added. “They have been stonewalling for a year. They had to come under subpoena and a threat of contempt to be able to produce the documents. And now they say they’re concerned about omissions? Well, let’s put all the documents out there. If they’re truly concerned about this four-page memo, which truly is revealing and the American people should be concerned about — let them judge for themselves — let’s go ahead and put all of the documents out there. I don’t think they want that either.”
