On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” Washington Post Deputy Editorial Page Editor and columnist Ruth Marcus stated America’s system of government is designed to survive a category 3 or 4 storm, but maybe can’t survive “a category Trump storm.”

Marcus said, “[I]f you think about Donald Trump as a hurricane, our system was made to survive a category 3, category four storm. We’re not really sure if it’s made to survive a category Trump storm. And I think that may be…what 2018 is going to tell us, is just how robust these systems are. Look, none of them is perfect, starting with the media. Certainly, we’ve seen a lot of disappointments from the Republican-controlled Congress in being willing to stand up and talk back to President Trump.”
