The Georgia Bulldogs took down the Oklahoma Sooners in a thriller Monday in the College Football Playoff’s semifinals 54-48, the first-ever overtime game of the Rose Bowl.
After the game as players were shaking hands, Georgia linebacker Davin Bellamy was repeatedly seen shouting to Oklahoma’s Heisman-winner Baker Mayfield, “Humble yourself!”
Mayfield appeared to ignore Bellamy, who did not pursue the quarterback and went on to do an on-field interview.
Bellamy later said via ESPN, “All I’m saying is humble yourself. All the flamboyancy … I carry myself the same way, but humble yourself, man.”
“Our wide receivers came back and told us that they were running their routes before we went out there and he was on their line. Just humble yourself, man, just humble yourself. You’re not built like that.”
