Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends,” Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN) ripped “fake news” for what was described to be the “Corker kickback” that reportedly was a sweetener to earn Corker’s vote.
The so-called “Corker kickback” was a moniker given to a late addition to the tax bill that was passed by the Senate late Tuesday and by the House on Wednesday describe as a “real estate-friendly inclusion.”
Corker claimed he had nothing to do with that addition and told “Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade how he had “newfound empathy” for President Donald Trump’s complaints about “fake news.”
“I told him that I’d had a healthy respect for the media. I deal with them all the time and, you know, to attack the media has not been something I’ve done,” Corker said. “But I had a newfound empathy for him in watching how a totally debunked story spread across the political media.”
