Thursday during a press conference, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan (R-WI) said Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-TX) was making the “right decision” to not seek re-election in the 2018 midterm election amid harassment allegations.
Ryan said, “I had a couple of conversations with Blake Farenthold yesterday. I think he has made the right decision to retire. There are new stories that are very disconcerting. Unacceptable behavior has been alleged in those stories. I think he has made the right decision that he is going to be leaving Congress and that reflects some of the conversations we had.”
