On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” Representative Seth Moulton (D-MA) stated Senator Al Franken (D-MN) should resign and slammed House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) interview about Representative John Conyers (D-MI) on “Meet the Press” and called for Pelosi to resign as Minority Leader.
Moulton said Pelosi “did not say the right things, in any respect. She didn’t respect the women who have brought forward these allegations.” Moulton reiterated his call for Pelosi to step down from leadership so that a new generation can take over.
Later on, Moulton answered anchor Steve Kornacki’s question on whether Franken should resign by saying, “Yes. From what I know, he should resign.”
Moulton continued that “There will be more of these cases,” and it’s important to ensure that women “feel supported and can come forward.”
He added that sexual misconduct isn’t just a problem in Congress, and Congress needs to set the tone for the rest of the country, something it isn’t doing at the moment.
