After witnessing Tiger Woods finish three under in his first round back from a 301-day layoff at the Hero World Challenge golf tournament in the Bahamas, Fox Sports 1 “First Things First” co-host Cris Carter believes the golfer is back to his old form.
Woods’ layoff included his fourth back surgery, a DUI arrest from pain medications and a rehab stint.
“Tiger is back,” Carter said of Woods’ Thursday performance. “He hit the ball [phenomenally]. And that’s what you really want to see. He wasn’t in pain. He said he hadn’t been in pain for a short period of time, so being able to play golf pain-free.”
