On Wednesday’s broadcast of C-SPAN’s “Washington Week,” Representative Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) stated that while it’s up to Representative John Conyers (D-MI) if he should resign, “I would think he should.” Blumenauer also said using taxpayer dollars to settle sexual harassment claims “is news to me, and it shouldn’t be in the future.”
Blumenauer said he wasn’t aware that public funds were being used to settle sexual harassment claims, and “This is news to me, and it shouldn’t be in the future.”
He was then asked if Conyers should resign. Blumenauer answered, “Well, obviously, that’s his decision. But I would think he should.”
