Friday on ESPN’s “First Take,” co-host Max Kellerman reacted to President Donald Trump’s tweet that says NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell had “lost control” of the NFL because of the National Anthem protests, saying NFL owners should just “ignore” the president when he tries to push for them to cut protesters.
Kellerman suggested Trump tweets about the NFL’s dwindling National Anthem protests to distract from “the real world.”
“For the press, it’s actually good for the sports media even to be talking about this because it’s content that he’s giving us to talk about, but it’s bad for the NFL owners’ business for this to be going on,” Kellerman explained. “And they have the option of ignoring him. The press has less of that option. So, I would suggest the owners ignore him.”
