MSNBC’s Tur: Democrats Are ‘Reeling’ In Fundraising

MSNBC’s Katy Tur said that Republicans have a strong fundraising advantage over Democrats and the national Democratic Party is “reeling” while hosting Tuesday’s “MTP Daily.”

Tur said, “Democrats bested Republicans at the ballot box in this month’s high-profile election in Virginia. But the GOP is enjoying a vast fundraising advantage, according to new FEC data. Take a look at these numbers. The RNC more than doubled their Democratic counterparts in fundraising in October, bringing in about $9.2 million. They’ve brought in more than $113 million in 2017, dwarfing the $55 million raised by the DNC. The RNC has more than $42 million in their war chest, compared to just about $5 million for Democrats. And while the RNC is debt free, the DNC owes more than $3 million. Individual Democratic candidates and groups may be raising good money in the run-up to the pivotal 2018 midterms, but the national party itself is reeling.”
