Sunday on New York AM 970 radio’s “The Cats Roundtable,” Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz said that he did not believe former President Barack Obama, and his administration would have handled the NFL players protesting the National Anthem any differently than President Donald Trump and his administration, outside of the threat to end the “massive” tax breaks.
“I don’t know that the Obama administration would’ve handled it any differently,” Dershowitz told host John Catsimatidis. “I think President Obama would have said he disapproves of kneeling during the National Anthem. He probably wouldn’t have threatened tax consequences to the owners, but I think that’s just a threat. The president doesn’t have the power enforce that. It requires Congress to do it.”
