Sunday on MSNBC, Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) said President Donald Trump’s proposed tax cuts which would eliminate the deduction for state and local taxes was “dead on arrival” in the House of Representatives because moderate Republicans from states with high taxes cannot support it.
Lieu said, “I believe the current tax plan is constructed as dead on arrival. It hurts states like California, New York, New Jersey, where there are a number of moderate Republicans running for their life next November. I don’t believe they’re going to be able to vote for this monstrosity of a tax plan.”
