Hillary: Trump’s UN Speech Was ‘Very Dark, Dangerous,’ Not the Message a President Should Send

During an interview set to air on Tuesday’s broadcast of CBS’ “The Late Show,” former Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton criticized President Trump’s speech before the UN General Assembly as “very dark, dangerous,” and not the message a US president should deliver.

Hillary, who said she saw “parts” of the speech, stated that it was “very dark, dangerous, not the kind of message that the leader of the greatest nation of the world should be delivering.”

She added that she would have preferred if the president addressed the North Korea situation by saying something like, “We view this as dangerous to our allies, to the region, and even to our country. We call on all nations to work with us to try to end the threat posed by Kim Jong-Un.”

Hillary continued, “And not call him ‘Rocket Man,’ the old Elton John song, but to say it clearly, ‘We will not tolerate any attacks on our friends or ourselves.’ But, you should lead with diplomacy.”
