Tom Brady had praise for quarterback Colin Kaepernick when asked if the free agent still has the ability to play in the NFL.
“I sure hope so,” Brady said in an interview with CBS’s “Sunday Morning.” “I’ve always watched [Kaepernick] and admired him, the way that he’s played. He was a great young quarterback.”
He continued, “He came to our stadium and beat us and took his team to the Super Bowl in 2012. He accomplished a lot in the pros as a player and he’s certainly qualified and I hope he gets a shot.”
Kaepernick has been out of a job since opting out of his contract with the 49ers in the offseason.
The Baltimore Ravens showed interest the activist quarterback but ultimately went with another option for their backup role, a move that caused Kaepernick’s girlfriend to post a picture portraying the team owner as a racist and legendary linebacker Ray Lewis as a house slave.
