Thursday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough reacted to the announcement the night before that President Donald Trump had made a deal with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program without securing funding for a border wall.

“Morning Joe” co-host Willie Geist noted Breitbart’s use of “Amnesty Don” in headlines and that it became a trending topic on social media.

Scarborough had performed a song a summer early entitled “Amnesty Don.”

Scarborough said such reactions showed “fear and loathing” in what he described as the “rambunctious parts” of Trump’s base.

“You know, we’re going to be showing polls in a little bit that actually show why the president is doing what he is doing,” Scarborough said. “He’s been locked at 33 percent, 34, 35 percent for some time and he’s actually moving towards a plan that’s actually going to be supported by 55, 60 percent of Americans. It’s a pretty simple political calculation. But there is fear and loathing and weeping by let’s say some of the more rambunctious parts of the president’s base.”
