Instead of signing quarterback Matt Stafford to an extension Monday worth $135 million over five years, making him the highest paid player in NFL history, Fox Sports 1 NFL analyst Rob Parker suggested the Detroit Lions should have instead signed Colin Kaepernick.
During his Tuesday appearance on “The Herd,” Parker questioned the Lions’ decision and listed off his record on the road and record against teams over .500.
“OK, let’s say you don’t pay [Stafford] the money,” Cowherd said. “Who would you get at quarterback?”
Parker immediately responded, “Colin Kaepernick.”
“Oh, good hell!” Cowherd replied.
“Colin Kaepernick’s been to the Super Bowl!” said Parker. “He’s been to the NFC Championship. What has [Matt Stafford] done? Seriously. …I would take [Kaepernick] any day.”
