Fmr Hillary Campaign Aide: Purity Tests Sanders Supporters Subject Dems to Is a ‘Manifestation of Privilege’

In a Saturday debate on MSNBC’s “AM Joy” about Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA) running for president in 2020 and the opposition that has received, former Clinton campaign director of progressive Media Zerlina Maxwell proposed the “ideological purity” that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) supporters are demanding “is really a manifestation of privilege.”

“The ideological purity that some Bernie Sanders supporters want to implement in the Democratic Party is really a manifestation of privilege because people of color and women who are running for office can’t abide by purity tests because of the structural difficulties in running for office,” Maxwell explained.
