Former Mexican President Vicente Fox reiterated a statement he made during the 2016 presidential campaign on Friday when discussing President Donald Trump’s pledge to make Mexico pay for the wall bordering Mexico and the United States.
CNN’s “New Day” host Alisyn Camerota noted to Fox how “diplomatic” current Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto has been about the border wall.
“Do you think that the President of Mexico should have been more forceful in saying it’s never going to happen?” Camerota asked Fox.
“You can use my words. We will never pay for that f***ing wall,” replied Fox.
“Who can think about a country paying for a wall that is going to be built in the neighbor’s territory? Or why should Mexico pay for a wall? What’s the reason?” he continued. “We don’t need a wall.”
Camerota later apologized to viewers for Fox’s “salty language.”
“Perhaps I should have taken that offer for the five-second delay,” she joked.
