Thursday on ABC’s “The View,” while discussing President Donald Trump’s victory over Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, filmmaker Michael Moore said Clinton’s popular vote tally means the country “agreed with the Democrats on the issues, therefore the  “archaic” Electoral College had “to go.”

Moore said, “If you remember last year at this time it looked like she was going to win, she was ahead. The convention was great. She won all the debates and actually she won. She got 3 million more votes.”

He continued,”This is the second time in 16 years, first with Gore, that we win and then we lose. How does this happen? And you know, the Democrats have won the popular vote in six of the last seven presidential elections. The Republicans have only won the popular vote once since 1988.”

He added, “So the country we live in actually agrees with the Democrats on the issues —women should be paid the same as men, there is climate change, there should be a minimum wage, basic things. That’s the good news of the country we live in, but we have this archaic thing that’s got to go, the electoral college.”
