Sunday on CNN’s “Reliable Sources,” during a back-and-forth, host Brian Stelter asked White House counselor Kellyanne Conway why attacking CNN made “America great again?”
Conway said CNN is “an outlet that has been incredibly unfair against this president.”
Stelter asked, “So, in your first answer, you made several points about the administration’s accomplishments. But you started by attacking CNN. Why does attacking CNN make America great again?”
Conway shot back, “I’m sure you want that to go viral. I’m not attacking CNN.”
It continued for over 20 minutes with Stelter referencing “scandals” causing Conway to ask, “What are the big scandals going on. Please, name them for me.”
Stelter said, “When you look at this president’s rhetoric, his behavior when it comes to the media.”
Conway asked, “His rhetoric is a scandal?”
Stelter said, “When he calls real news outlets fake news he poisons our public discourse. It makes it harder for us to communicate as a country.”
Conway said, “It doesn’t stop, it doesn’t stop people at CNN on personally attacking each of us and running these ridiculous palace intrigue stories basically since the day we’ve been there.”
