NBC’s Chuck Todd: ‘This Week’ a Giant PR, Political, Possibly Legal Disaster for Trump

Friday on MSNBC’s “MTP Daily,” host Chuck Todd addressed the Trump administration’s week of breaking stories on the meeting between Donald Trump, Jr., Jared Kushner, then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort, a Russian attorney and several other people.

Todd said, “Good evening, I’m Chuck Todd here in Washington. Yes, it’s a little rainy. If it’s Friday, it means there are shocking new details about that bombshell meeting with Russia that the White House did not tell us about. Folks, this week has been a giant PR, political, and possibly a legal disaster for this administration. Today we learned that there was yet another person in that meeting, or maybe two people, or maybe three.”

“We know one of them was a former Soviet intelligence officer who says he brought documents mentioning Clinton to the meeting,” he continued. “Here is what else we know. The Trump campaign was told it was a meeting about dirt on Hillary Clinton. The issue of U.S. sanctions against Russia was brought up during the meeting. So was the subject of dirt on Hillary Clinton. Did you get all that? That in itself is the class five hurricane this administration is now grappling. Worse, their responses this week have proven to be incomplete at best, and untrue at worst.”
