Saturday at the United States Conference of Mayors, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said stopping the Republican health care bill was his “call to arms.”

De Blasio said, “We are staring at the possibility that on Thursday, we are going to see the wheel turn and this begin happening to our cities. We are going to see our hospitals stressed in a way they never have seen before. We will see hospitals unable to provide the services they have in the past. We’re going to see hospitals close, and sadly, they are going to close in the places they are needed the most. In some of the regions of the country and some of the cities that have had some of the toughest times. This is what we are watching before our very eyes. But it’s not a foregone collusion, and this is my call to arms, and it’s bipartisan because it affects all of us.”
