On Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “AC360,” Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stated that the Democratic Party has a bad brand and its model for the last decade hasn’t worked.
Sanders noted that the special elections so far have been in Republican seats, adding, “I think what most objective observers feel is Democrats actually have the momentum. Maybe not enough momentum right now to win in heavy Republican districts but the momentum is with the Democrats.”
He continued, “But, having said that, it is my view that the Democratic Party has to do a lot of internal soul-searching, and understand that for the last ten years, the model that they have had really has not worked.”
Sanders further argued, “The Democratic brand is pretty bad. … I think the Trump brand is also pretty bad, as is the Republican brand.”
