Monday on Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” “Clinton Cash” author and Breitbart News senior editor at large Peter Schweizer laid out what was behind a U.S. Senate inquiry into Hillary Clinton and her State Department threatened a foreign government.
Schweizer told host Tucker Carlson the State Department pressured Bangladeshi Prime Minister Hasina Wazed to drop an investigation of a Clinton Foundation donor.
“Well basically, the substance of this investigation is that senior State Department officials in seeing this investigation taking place of this longtime Clinton friend, told by the prime minister of Bangladesh to get their mother of the prime minister, to call off the dogs on the investigation,” he explained. “And if they didn’t do that, according to the prime minister’s son, they were going to have the IRS audit him. The son of the Bangladeshi prime minister lives in the United States. He has been here for 17 years. So, it was a very serious threat. And based on what that individual has said, it is a pretty detailed claim. I think that is why Senator Grassley is saying this needs to be investigated.”
Watch:
“[T]o essentially be charged with siccing the IRS on foreign government officials and their families for these purposes is way beyond the pale,” he added. “And unfortunately, Tucker, it fits the pattern of the kind of behavior that the Clintons engage in, which is using government power as a tool and a cudgel against the opponents or people that are looking for wrongdoing that is taking place either by them or their powerful friends.”
